My grandpa flew B-17's in WWII. When he was on his 13th mission, he and his crew got shot down after bombing a munitions factory in Germany. Thankfully he and his entire crew made it through, some went with the Nazis and my grandpa and the rest of his crew made it out through the French underground. He even wrote a book on his experience in 1994 and started an evasion group in the late 60s. (I have a PDF of the book, if anyone wants to read it.) My grandfather passed away on March 29, 2013 at the age of 91.
So amazing artwork! My love of WWII warplanes come from my grandfather.

Bombs away
They look good enough to be box art for model kits and such like!
