Why? I figured she suffered enough in life, so having her die in the Great Disaster would have been unecessarily cruel.
Dani was robbing a bank, and Hit Girl showed up to stop her. Seeing her all scared and terrified, robbing banks because life gave her no other choice, convinced Hit Girl that criminals aren't all monsters, some are just flawed human beings. She immediately threw down her guns and vowed never to kill again. That's why, in Universe Beta, she captures criminals and sends them to the police instead of killing them. She still uses knives and spears, but in the same way Leonardo in the 2003 Ninja Turtles cartoon uses his katanas: to wound and to injure, never to kill.
Hit Girl lated used her connections to give Dani a job at Wayne Enterprises so she would never be hungry or poor again.
